call-to-actionA good call-to-action (CTA) on your website can produce leads for your business. In simple terms, a call-to-action (CTA) is asking your website visitors to take an action, to do something. To your website visitors it is about you providing them something valuable. A piece of information, a tip, a quote, a document, a video, etc. To you it is about collecting leads that can potentially bring new revenue for your business.

Have you considered what call-to-action you need on your website?

One of the main reasons to have a website is to increase your business, but once a visitor lands on your website they need to be guided on what to do next. Website visitors should be provided enough information to learn and understand how your business will help them, but through CTA’s you can get them to take the next step.

Here are just some things to consider when you are working on your call-to-action for your website

call-to-action buttons

  • Use buttons, images, or videos in visible locations on your website that directs visitors to take an action.
  • Don’t use multiple CTA’s on one page that ask visitors to do different things. Try to keep it simple and do one CTA on a page. You can do the same CTA multiple times on a single page, but try to keep it focused and simple for the visitor.
  • Be clear what the CTA is. Don’t be ambiguous. Get a quote, contact me, learn more, download, buy now, or view a demo? These are just a few types of CTA’s you can use, but you want to make sure that it is clear to the visitor what they are getting by following that CTA.
  • Don’t be scared to ask them to enter information about themselves. This is how you are going to get leads that you can follow up on. Get their name, phone and email so you can contact them and show them how your business can help them.
  • Use language that will convince them why they need to click on the CTA or fill out your form. For example, you may have a special offer that is expiring and you need to give them a sense of urgency to follow the CTA to complete the form.
